The Pleater
A small pleating machine that feeds the fabric through rollers and can pleat up to 24 rows at one time.
A pleater has four grooves rollers held horizontally between end plates. Curved needles slide in slots between two of the rollers. As we turn the handle, the gear action draws the fabric in, tucks it into the grooves and forces it onto the needles, then the threads. The result is beautifully pleated fabric!
Needles can be positioned in the pleater to produce rows that are full space, approximately 1cm apart or half space, approximately 5mm apart.
